Black Panther

I’m definitely a fan of superhero movies. But I’m not a die hard mega fan who knows everything about the comics and can recite facts. So my apologies if I get anything wrong now or in the future when talking about Marvel movies. Black Panther is a pretty standard origin story. It reveals how T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) becomes the Black Panther and introduces us to the world of Wakanda. I have to say Wakanda was wicked and I wouldn’t mind living there. My favorite part of the movie was T’Challa’s sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright). She was the biggest personality on the screen and added a lot of humorous moments to the movie. Second favorite character was Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan). I thought he was really fantastic and his character was more interesting than T’Challa. There are a lot of epic fight scenes and it is for sure on par with the other Marvel movies in terms of fun to watch. I think this movie was helped out a lot by having Ryan Coogler direct it. Having done the lower budget Fruitvale Station as well as the more standard Hollywood fare Creed, Coogler had the chops to deliver a high budget movie with some artistic flair. I’m not sure it would’ve had the same effect if they’d had someone else direct. Wakanda forever!!!
