Ralph Breaks the Internet

It’s the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph and it ups the stakes from the arcade to the Internet. Six years have gone by since the OG movie with Ralph and Vanellope. We find the loveable video game characters are still best buddies but Vanellope is bored with the same ole same ole life. She is itching for a new track to drive and new adventures. When her game breaks and is in danger of being shut down, she and Ralph go to the Internet to try to find a replacement part. The Internet opens up a whole new world for the two of them and tests their friendship. I thought this sequel was just as cute and fun as the first movie. I liked to watch Vanellope and Ralph explore the world of the Internet with no prior knowledge of what it is. I also thought there were some really good lessons about the Internet for kids especially concerning mean comments on the Internet. Ralph has to deal with negative comments on the Internet and that’s an important discussion that parents should have with their kids. It’s also an important reminder for adults too I might add. PSA over. Best part of the movie for me was the creativity that went into crafting the world of the Internet. The pop-up ads are hilarious, Twitter with all of its little birds tweeting was great, the search bar was imaginative, I could go on. But I won’t because you should just see it for yourself.
